About
[ gameboy ], a dance theatre work that fuses street styles and contemporary, drops two avatars into the game of life.Created by Amy Zhang, and featuring two of Australia’s most sought-after dancers William ‘Billy’ Keohavong and Ko Yamada, the work questions what is the secret to winning at life.
Inspired by Japanese game shows, video games and internet culture, two avatars are put through the ringer and tested on their ability to stay in the game.
Through a series of increasingly difficult levels, [ gameboy ] challenges players to truly consider the consequences of their actions. Will they win?
Presented as part of Dance24, an experimental dance festival from 22 May - 1 June.
