Experience a bold fusion of jazz, electronics, and orchestral innovation as the UQ BIG BAND joins forces with acclaimed Austrian musicians Horst-Michael Schaffer (trumpet, vocals) and Philipp Sageder (electronics, vocals) for a one-night-only performance at Metro Arts. The concert features original music by Schaffer, composed for his groundbreaking European ensemble Jazz Bigband Graz (JBBG), known for blending jazz, pop, minimalism, and poetry. This international collaboration, supported by an Erasmus+ grant, celebrates the partnership between the University of Queensland and the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz — a meeting of creative minds pushing the boundaries of contemporary big band music.
